God Uses Imperfect People

Date: September 3, 2017

Most people have only heard the Sunday School version of Esther, where she is described in almost perfect, fairy tale terms. But Esther’s life was far from perfect. Like all of us, she started out struggling, learning and growing in her faith. In time, God took that imperfect young girl and used her in great ways. And in that story, we all find the story of our own lives, and we can thank God that He still uses imperfect people like us!

The Man Who Ruled the World

Date: August 27, 2017

King Ahasuerus was once the most powerful man on earth. He threw a party for six months to proudly display the vastness of his kingdom and wealth. But where is this great man now? He is dead and gone. Yet 2,500 years later, our God still sits enthroned in heaven, unmoved and unshaken by all the so-called great leaders who have come and gone. Don’t be impressed by earthly power. Put your trust in God alone!

Restoring Broken Things

Date: August 20, 2017

It is amazing to see how a skilled artist can take broken pieces of glass and carefully assemble them into a stained glass window to create a beautiful work of art. This reminds us how we were once broken and shattered by sin, but Jesus restored us into something beautiful by His grace, and now our lives can reflect His glory!

Finding What Only Christ Can Give

Date: August 13, 2017

We all spend our lives searching for many things, and what we don’t realize is, our deepest search is a craving for what was lost in the fall of man. But that missing piece can only be found in one place, and that is in Christ. While the world can satisfy our longings for a short while, only Christ can give us the grace, love and peace we so desperately need. Has your search led you to Christ?

Choosing to Trust in God’s Control

Date: August 6, 2017

Do you trust God? The real answer to that question is found, not in what you say, but in how much of your life you are still trying to control. This is actually a symptom of pride, because you are telling God you can handle things without Him. God asks us to place our lives under His control, and trust in His wisdom instead of our own. When we do, we will begin living the way He designed us to live, and we will be the recipients of His promised care.

Are You Following the Right Leaders?

Date: July 30, 2017

Ask different people what they think about pastors and you’ll hear everything from, “I love my pastor” to, “They’re all a bunch of phonies!” How is it that church leaders have earned such a wide range of responses from people, and what standards can you use to determine whether you are being led by the right kind of leaders?

Finding Hope When Life Hurts

Date: July 23, 2017

It is often hard to see beyond the struggles and heartaches of this life to imagine that anything good could actually be at work in them behind the scenes. Why would God allow these things to happen if I’m honestly trying to follow Him, and how can I find any hope in the midst of such deep sorrow? Take heart, God is in control, and you truly can find hope when life hurts!

Sticking Together in Hard Times

Date: July 16, 2017

As we face the trials and hardships of life, we must not face them alone. Some Christians think they can separate themselves from the Body of Christ and still survive, but the notion of individual Christianity is not found anywhere in the Bible. Peter gives us vital instructions on how to stick together when life tries to tear us apart, and when we do, our lives will bring glory to God. Make sure you are not trying to do life alone!

How to Face Trials and Temptations

Date: July 9, 2017

What do you do when the trials and temptations of life feel overwhelming? Is there someone you can turn to or some place you can go to find hope and help that will get you through those moments? Today’s message teaches us an important biblical principle that will not only help us be prepared before those battles come, but will give us hope long after those battles are over.

What Suffering is Designed to Do

Date: July 2, 2017

Human reasoning would have us believe that if God really loved us, He would protect us from all pain, heartache and suffering. It is vital, then, that we do not face the hardships of life with human reasoning, but rather, with the mind of Christ. What attitude did Christ have when He endured all the physical and emotional suffering that came His way, and what can we learn by having that same attitude?

Can We Be Saved Without Baptism?

Date: June 4, 2017

Some people say that if a Christian is not baptized, he will not go to heaven, but is that really what the Bible teaches? Did Christ’s death on the cross provide everything necessary to wash away our sins, or are the waters of baptism necessary to wash away the rest? Today we tackle a controversial verse in 1 Peter and discover that it really isn’t that difficult to understand after all.

What the Gospel Means For Us

Date: May 28, 2017

When we were little kids, there were certain stories we loved hearing again and again. They never got old, no matter how many times the book was read to us. What about the Gospel story? Have you grown tired of it yet, or does it become more wonderful each time you hear it? Once we come to understand and appreciate exactly what Christ has done for us, this is one story that will become our favorite of them all.
