Sermons about Glory

Will You Defend God’s Honor?

Date: February 21, 2021 | Speaker:

On our list of priorities, plans and life’s goals, how high have we placed “bringing honor and glory to God?” Is that even on our list? Is it something we ever think about? At critical times throughout history there have been moments when God searched for just one person who would stand up for Him. Sometimes He found that person. Sometimes He did not. Are you committed to standing alone for God, if necessary, and using your life to bring Him glory?

God is Not Your Good Luck Charm

Date: January 24, 2021 | Speaker:

A spare tire. An insurance policy. A fire extinguisher. These are things we keep around somewhere in case of an emergency. Usually they’re out of sight gathering dust because we never think about them until something goes wrong. Sadly, some people treat God this way. They have no time for Him, but the minute trouble comes, they run and grab God like He’s some kind of good luck charm, begging Him to fix their problems. If this has been your view of God, there is a much better relationship he desires to have with you!

Christmas: The Wonder of HOW

Date: December 13, 2020 | Speaker:

If you and I had planned the birth of Jesus, we would have made sure He was born into a royal family, that He had the best medical care, the most comfortable surroundings, and that His birth was announced to famous, influential people. But God chose for His Son to be born into the lowliest of conditions, surrounded by poverty and hardship, and overlooked by almost everyone. In doing this, God was teaching us a life-changing lesson that will forever change the meaning of Christmas!

Christmas: The Wonder of WHO

Date: December 6, 2020 | Speaker:

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the rush of the Christmas season. We get caught up in shopping and decorating and cooking, and if we’re not careful, the true meaning of Christmas will get lost in it all. That’s why we must always stay focused on that baby in the manger and remind ourselves just who He is. Everything that matters in life emanates from Him, for He truly is God with us!

The Absence of the Presence of God

Date: February 9, 2020 | Speaker:

Imagine how amazing it must have been for the Israelites in the wilderness to know that the very presence of God lived just on the other side of the curtains of the Tabernacle. God, in all His power and glory, was… right there! But in time, they began to take God’s presence for granted, and their hearts turned away to idols. As a result, they lost His presence! Did you know that God still longs to dwell with us today, but He will not do so if we have any other “gods” before Him. Are we actively cultivating our hearts to be a pure, holy, welcoming place for God’s presence to dwell?

Christmas Addresses Our Biggest Need

Date: December 22, 2019 | Speaker:

We were created to glorify God with every thought, every word and every action. But our sin has caused us to glorify other things more than we glorify God. As a result, we have lost peace with God, which robs us of peace within, which destroys our peace with others. That baby in the manger came to restore this broken peace with God so that we could once again have peace within and peace with others. and to give us a new heart that would desire to glorify Him above everything else. Our Desperate Need for Christmas

Date: December 8, 2019 | Speaker:

All human beings who have ever been born were created to love God. In fact, the greatest command of all is to love God, but instead, we have replaced that love for God with love of self. As a result, we no longer find delight in living for Him, but rather, we live for ourselves and willfully step over His boundaries. Since we are all sinful, it is impossible for us to restore our broken relationship with God on our own, so God sent His Son to do what we could not do, and to rescue us.

Who Am I God, and Who Are You?

Date: November 3, 2019 | Speaker:

Any life that is going to be used by God must be humbled and broken first. This is God’s process of showing us who He really is, and who we really are by comparison. But we fight against this process because we don’t want to be humbled; we don’t want to be broken. And so we continue trying to live in our own strength, by our own resources, and in doing so, we miss out on what God wants to do through us. Are you still resisting this work of God in your life?

Allowing Suffering to Reveal God’s Glory

Date: April 14, 2019 | Speaker:

When we go through painful times of struggle or suffering, the one thing we want most from God is answers. We think that if He would just explain why He is allowing us to hurt so badly, things would be better. But the truth is, God’s explanations would only raise more questions. Answers are not what we need. Instead, we should pray for a fresh revelation of God’s greatness, because once we catch a glimpse of His greatness and glory, all of life and its struggles will be put into perspective, and we will be able to see that He is indeed in control and He knows what He is doing, even when we don’t understand.

Allowed to Suffer for God’s Glory

Date: July 24, 2016 | Speaker:

We sometimes grow impatient or even angry with God if He allows pain and sorrow into our lives. We question His love for us and wonder why a good God would ever allow us to hurt. But we must realize that we exist for one reason only, and that is bring glory to God; and whatever methods He may choose in order to be glorified through us are right and good. Have you ever come to terms with this vital truth?

What If We Saw God for Who He Really Is?

Date: September 6, 2015 | Speaker:

Today the name of God has become a common curse word. Even Christians are guilty of treating God casually. The problem is, we have lost the fear of God because we have forgotten who it is we’re dealing with. God is not the old man in the sky. He is a consuming fire who dwells in unapproachable light. If we caught even the slightest glimpse His holiness, we would fall to the ground like dead men! How would our lives be different if we saw God for who He really is?

God on the Throne: A Picture of Holiness, Part 2

Date: February 6, 2011 | Speaker:

Whether you look through the telescope or the microscope, the majesty and greatness of God are on display for all to see. Each year brings new discoveries of giant galaxies that now number in the billions, and also new discoveries of the vast “galaxies” within the microscopic cells of our own bodies. One cannot help but feel small and be humbled when presented with the staggering enormity and brilliance of God’s creative handiwork. The holiness and majesty of God are so immense and overwhelming that we are once again brought to our knees in worship before Him!
