Launching Into the Great Commission

Date: June 28, 2015 | Speaker:

When a teaching series comes to an end, it’s easy to move on with life and never actually put what we’ve heard into action. Today we conclude our Saved & Sent series by hearing testimonies of what God is doing in different people, and we commit as a church to launch into the Great Commission like never before. What will you do with the things you’ve heard in this series? Will you file them away and forget them, or will you commit to putting them into action for the glory of God?

All She Had to Live On

Date: June 14, 2015 | Speaker:

Jim Elliot is quoted as saying “He is no fool, who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” Jesus response to the widow who gave 2 copper coins is very revealing; he does not say she gave all her money, he says she gave all she had to live on. Luke 12:15 says “One’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions”. If our life isn’t in our possessions, what is Jesus referring to when he says this widow woman gave all she had to live on?

Are You a Friend of Sinners?

Date: May 31, 2015 | Speaker:

Jesus has been given many wonderful titles that display His power and majesty, but the title that shows His deep love for mankind most clearly is: Jesus, Friend of Sinners. During His ministry, He was sharply criticized for spending time with notoriously sinful men and women. But Jesus reminded His critics that those very people were the ones He came into the world to save. Now that we have been sent to carry on His mission, could it be said of us that we, too, are a friend of sinners?

Called to Make a Difference

Date: May 17, 2015 | Speaker:

Since we have been called to penetrate our culture and make an impact for Christ, there must be something about us that gives us the ability to actually make a difference. One of the things Jesus compared us to is salt, but how can salt make any difference in the world? Join us as we explore the amazing properties of salt and discover how we have been called to exhibit those same life-changing qualities to impact the world around us.

What You Do for Christ Matters!

Date: May 10, 2015 | Speaker:

When we consider what part we are supposed to play in the Great Commission, it can be difficult to know where to begin. The vastness of the mission compared to our limited resources and abilities can leave us feeling overwhelmed and immobilized. But God never asks us to do more than we can. All He asks is that we do what we can and allow Him to take our little and use it for something great. Be encouraged to know that however small your role may seem, what you do for Christ matters!

Why Aren’t We Excited About Jesus?

Date: April 26, 2015 | Speaker:

Why do Christians have no trouble talking with great excitement about sports, movies, vacations, sales at the mall… but those same people never talk about Jesus? Lots of excuses can be given, but it’s time to stop pretending and admit that we are just not excited enough about Jesus to share Him with anyone. The church doesn’t have a missions problem, it has a heart problem, and until we get serious and ask God to break our hearts, we will never fulfill our part in the Great Commission.

The Heartbeat of God

Date: April 12, 2015 | Speaker:

As the church today, we have become professionals at gathering. We spend millions on massive buildings, hi-tech sound and video productions, even pyrotechnics in some cases! We have become experts at putting on performances that rival Disney and Hollywood, all in an effort to meet the ever-growing demands of our members so they’ll be happy and keep coming back. In so doing, we have completely missed the heartbeat of God and have entertained ourselves into irrelevance.

The Fool and His Folly

Date: January 19, 2014 | Speaker:

In our generation today, as always, we need to clearly understand the truth. We need to understand who we are talking to when we are discussing Jesus Christ with unbelievers. We also need to know what assumptions they are making when they say things like, “All religions are basically the same,” or “No one can know for sure,” or “That’s just your interpretation!” There are certain assumptions being made at the foundation of these arguments against the gospel. When we shed light on these falsely assumed foundations, the truth can be seen more clearly.

Are We Living Worthy of the Gospel?

Date: May 26, 2013 | Speaker:

Philippians 1:27 urges us to live lives worthy of the gospel of Christ. This literally means that our lives should give equal weight and value to the sacrifice that Christ made by giving His life for us. If His death was placed on one side of an old-fashioned scale and our life was placed on the other side, would it reveal that we are living in a way that measures up to what He did for us? Are our lives an appropriate reflection of the gospel?

To Live is Christ

Date: April 28, 2013 | Speaker:

What are you living for? It’s a simple question, yet how you answer it has profound implications. For the apostle Paul, the answer was unmistakable. He said, “For me to live is Christ!” Could your life’s statement be that clear; that there would be no need for additional words or further explanations? Is Christ the very purpose, priority, and passion of your existence?

Enduring Trials for God’s Glory

Date: April 21, 2013 | Speaker:

Some people teach that God never uses pain or trials or sickness to bring about His will. While this may sound good, it is absolutely not biblical. As we will see today, God uses many things, including suffering, to bring about His purpose. The question is not whether we will face trials, but whether we will respond to them in ways that glorify God. If you are in the middle of a painful, confusing time in life right now, we pray that this message will be a great encouragement to you!

Spirit in Control: A Picture of Power, Part 2

Date: April 17, 2011 | Speaker:

The Bible commands followers of Christ to be filled with the Spirit, but what does that really mean, and how do you know if you are filled with the Spirit? Today we look at four important proofs that our lives are filled with the Spirit’s power and that we are living under His control. Is your life showing evidence of the Holy Spirit’s presence?
