When you think of “sinners” who might be excluded from God’s kingdom, does anyone come to mind? If so, you may be entering dangerous territory. The Pharisees were certain of their own seat at God’s table, convinced that the tax collectors and prostitutes had no such place. But Jesus came precisely for the people the religious crowd wrote off. He welcomes the broken, the fallen, the forgotten with open arms the moment they repent and turn to Him. God’s grace reaches farther than our judgments, and we may be surprised by those who are on heaven’s guest list!

Living a Life Worthy of the Gospel

We have not been given the option of having our lives changed by the Gospel and then doing nothing with it. Our salvation is not just for our benefit, but for the sake of others who do not know Christ. The Bible charges us with the staggering responsibility of living our lives in a manner “worthy” of the Gospel. But we will never be motivated to take the Gospel to others unless we have eyes that see the need, and hearts that break over the need. Once we ask God to truly open our eyes and break our heart for the need of the Gospel, our lives will never be the same again!
