Wanting Jesus on Our Terms

One of the saddest moments in Scripture is when Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem, knowing the very people He’d come to save would reject Him. They wanted a Savior who would deliver them from the Romans, not one who would deliver them from their sin. And people today aren’t so different. Many want Jesus to grant their wishes and fix their problems, but they don’t want Him to rule over their heart. They come with a list of demands, not a life laid down. Have you accepted Jesus for who He truly is — Savior and Lord of all?

Delayed But Not Forgotten

You know what it’s like to pray with urgency and hear nothing but silence in return. You know the ache of wondering if God even heard you and if an answer will ever come. Those delays do not mean you’re forgotten. God is working on a timeline you cannot see—not just to fix what was broken, but so that He will be glorified through the process. There will be times in life for all of us when we simply have to say, “Lord, I don’t understand, but I still trust You.” He will prove, in His own time, that He was never far away, and that His timing was perfect after all.

Children of Light: Love vs. Hate

From the very beginning of creation, God desired to bring forth life out of darkness, so He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. This separation is representative of two opposing kingdoms; one to which His children belong, and one to which His enemies belong. Scripture tells us that God is light, and there is no darkness in Him, and those who belong to Him are children of light. Join us as we look at some of the attributes of each kingdom, and the separating choices each person will face as a reflection of the kingdom to which they choose to belong.

Breaking the Rules to Do What’s Right

We sometimes mistake religious performance for a relationship with God, convinced that if we just check enough boxes, we’re doing what He desires. The Pharisees kept all the rules, yet their hearts were far from Him. Jesus repeatedly crossed their man-made boundaries, not in rebellion, but to remind us that God cares more about what’s right than what’s merely religious. The world isn’t looking for people with all the answers; they want to see people who actually look like Jesus. May we have the courage to love like He does, even when the religious establishment won’t, because doing what’s right sometimes means breaking the rules.

Are You Worshiping a God You Don’t Love?

In Malachi, we see people trapped in religious routines, forgetting the very God they’re meant to adore. Their sacrifices are mere leftovers, their worship is a chore, and their hearts are indifferent. When God declared, “I have loved you,” they cynically replied, “How have you loved us?” This startling exchange should unsettle us. But before we criticize their callousness, we must ask: Is our worship vibrant and transformational, or just a lifeless checkbox on a religious to-do list? Beware, because spiritual apathy creeps in quietly! If you’re just going through the motions, ask God to rekindle your love and restore a genuine heart of worship. It’s not about rituals—it’s about a relationship that ignites awe for the One who first loved us.

The Glorious Future That Awaits You!

What gives you certainty in such an uncertain world? How do you keep your fire for God alive when weariness or doubt set in? The Bible paints a vivid picture of a day when Christ will return to eradicate evil and rescue His people. Until then, we must live in this broken world, and the waiting can leave us weary and discouraged. Yet, no matter how dark things seem now, this glorious future is the certainty that inspires us to persevere, remain passionate for God, and find joy in knowing that we will be with Him forever. All tears will be wiped away, and all things will be made new. This is the promise that should fuel an unshakable hope in the heart of every believer!

God’s Promise of Love and Restoration

In this world, we can never be entirely certain that those who profess to love us will remain by our side during our darkest moments of failure and sin. Past experiences have left us guarded and skeptical, doubting that unwavering, unfaltering love truly exists. Thankfully, we have one friend who has never abandoned anyone and has promised to love us despite our shortcomings. The Significance of Our Testimony

A testimony can be a powerful thing, and the use of a testimony goes right back to God, Himself, when He wrote His testimony of entering into covenant with His people, Israel. The Mirage of Earthly Hope

Good News Bad News

If your doctor hid the fact that you had cancer because he only liked saying positive things, would you consider him to be a good doctor? Of course not! Sometimes getting bad news is the best news you could ever get, especially if it would save your life. The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news for mankind, but it also contains some very bad news—that all those who reject Christ will spend eternity in hell separated from God. Right now, every person is either living in the good news of eternal life, or they are living in the bad news of God’s coming judgement. After you die will be too late to make this decision. So, which is it for you? Good news or bad news?
