Ask a hundred people to tell you who in this world will make it into heaven, and most of them will say, “The ones who are good, who don’t get drunk or do drugs or lie or cheat or steal, the ones who go to church, the ones who keep the Ten Commandments…” In other words, they’re saying if you perform good enough, God might let you in. But, in fact, the Bible says we can never be good enough to get into heaven. Well, that leaves us in a pretty bad spot! So what are we to do? Delayed But Not Forgotten

The Tragedy of Willful Blindness

Mercy for the Accused

If we measure our goodness against the sins of others, it’s easy to pass judgment. But if we measure ourselves against the holiness of God, we’re not the judges we imagined ourselves to be. We’re the accused! When a sinful woman was brought to Jesus, He refused to condemn her, because her sentence would be paid in full on the cross. Since we’ve all been shown that same mercy, shouldn’t we be just as quick to extend it to others? Only the one without sin has the right to throw stones, and none of us qualify.

The Thirst Only Jesus Can Satisfy

Faith Beyond the Mountaintop
