Sermons about Surrender

Coming to the End of Yourself

Date: November 9, 2025 | Speaker:

You’ve worked tirelessly to control life, earn approval, and construct your own version of happiness, but now you find yourself surrounded by all your exhausted attempts, realizing that you’ve come to the end of yourself. Congratulations! This is the moment that real change can happen. The kingdom of God isn’t for the proud or self-reliant, but for those willing to admit their own spiritual bankruptcy. True blessing, it turns out, is found when you’re empty of yourself and finally have room for Him.

Follow Me: The Call That Changes Everything

Date: September 28, 2025 | Speaker:

When you open your heart and really listen to the words “Follow Me,” you realize Jesus isn’t merely asking you to add more religious activities to your existing priorities and plans. He’s calling you to reorganize your entire existence around His lordship and His purposes so that He becomes your focus. Yes, surrender has a cost — old ways abandoned, priorities redefined, identities reshaped. But in exchange, you’ll discover purpose and joy that no other path can give, and you’ll be transformed by His grace into something you could never become on your own! So, are you simply wearing the “Christian” label, or are you an actual follower of Christ?

What Are You Seeking?

Date: July 6, 2025 | Speaker:

We’re all chasing something—success, money, approval, a sense of peace. And because sin runs through every human heart, even our noblest pursuits can be laced with selfish motives. It’s even possible to follow Jesus for the wrong reason! Some come to Him hoping that He’ll magically fix all their problems. Others follow because it’s expected—family tradition, social pressure. But the real question is: What are we truly seeking? Are we following Christ to get something from Him, or because we’ve been so overwhelmed by His grace that we can’t help but offer Him everything?

How Will You Respond to the Truth?

Date: May 11, 2025 | Speaker:

Matthew chapter 2 is more than a historical account, it’s a mirror revealing how we respond to Jesus, the ultimate Truth. Like the wise men, you may be searching for truth and meaning, but haven’t yet found what satisfies. Or like Herod, you might reject truth because it threatens your control or your pride. Or perhaps, like Joseph, you’ve encountered Jesus and now you live to protect and obey the truth at all costs. The question isn’t if you’re responding to Him, but how. Are you still seeking, stubbornly resisting, or surrendered to His truth? The choice you make reveals not just your journey, but your destiny!

Is the Savior You Want the Savior You Need?

Date: April 6, 2025 | Speaker:

When Jesus entered our world, it wasn’t the peaceful, Christmas card scene we imagine. He came to a people weary from being crushed by 1,500 years of military oppression. They desperately longed for the promised Messiah to rescue them, but their hope was slipping away. Sadly, when Jesus did arrive, they rejected Him because they wanted a king to overthrow Rome, not a servant preaching forgiveness. They wanted political freedom, not heart transformation. Their attitude exposes our own: we ask God to fix our circumstances, while refusing to surrender to His control. But Jesus didn’t come to improve our lifestyle—He came to redeem us from sin and reign as our Lord. Are you resisting the true Savior because you prefer a “savior” of your own making?

The God Who Never Forgets His Promises

Date: March 30, 2025 | Speaker:

Think about this—God has never broken a single promise, not once. He proved it when He gave a son to Zechariah and Elizabeth, even though they were far too old. He proved it when, after centuries of silence, He sent the Messiah through Mary and turned despair into hope. If God always keeps His promises—and He does—then why do we so often live as if we’re not sure? Every single promise He has made to you as a believer is absolutely certain. So what would change in your life if you lived each day with unshakable confidence in His faithfulness? Would you worry less? Risk more? Step out in bold obedience? The truth is, when you fully trust that God will do what He says, it changes everything. The question is—do you actually believe it?

Having Faith When You Don’t Have Answers

Date: March 23, 2025 | Speaker:

Life has a way of unraveling our certainties, doesn’t it? One moment, we think we’ve got it all figured out—our plans, our relationships, our future—and the next, it slips through our fingers like sand. Mary and Joseph were two ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances—her, a teenage girl pregnant with a miracle she can’t explain; him, a young carpenter wrestling with feelings of betrayal and doubt. Yet even in their time of confusion and trembling faith, God came to them with grace and reassurance. We’ve all experienced long nights of silence and seasons of worry when we whisper, “God, where are you?” Mary and Joseph’s story reminds us that trusting God isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about trusting the One who does. Remember, God is with you in life’s darkest moments, and His faithfulness never wavers!

Divine Interruptions: Trusting God’s Plans

Date: March 16, 2025 | Speaker:

God’s plans often come as interruptions to our carefully constructed lives. Zechariah, a faithful priest, and Mary, a humble teenager had two starkly different responses to divine intrusions. Zechariah, wearied by years of unanswered prayer, struggled to believe God’s promise of a son in his old age. Mary, however, received the unimaginable call to be the mother of the Messiah, yet she responded with awe and surrender. Both were called to trust God in ways that defied human logic. Their stories remind us that faith isn’t about having all the answers but about surrendering to God’s purposes, even when they seem impossible. Are you prepared to let God disrupt your plans? True faith means saying, like Mary, “I am the servant of the Lord, may it be to me according to your word,” and then stepping into the unknown, confident that His ways are always good.

Recognizing the Savior in a World That Won’t

Date: February 16, 2025 | Speaker:

One of the most tragic scenes in all of Scripture is when Jesus, the very architect of creation, entered His own world, only to be met with cold indifference. He wasn’t just ignored by strangers; He was rejected by His own people. They had the prophecies, the covenants and the history, all pointing to Jesus, yet they turned away because He didn’t fit their misguided expectations. We often do the same—wanting a God who fits neatly into our plans, who blesses but never disrupts. But true faith means trusting Him completely as both Savior and Lord of all. When you do, you’re not just forgiven; you become a child of God and an heir to His kingdom!

Obeying God Despite the Consequences

Date: July 28, 2024 | Speaker:

Researchers estimate that we make nearly a billion decisions in our lifetime. While most of these are subconscious and minor, some decisions have the power to alter the course of our lives. As followers of Christ, we face daily choices to either surrender to God’s will or assert our own. Often we’re afraid to obey because the outcome is uncertain, but our obedience should never be swayed by the prospect of gain or loss. Is there anything holding you back from obeying God because you’re afraid of what it might cost you? Pray that your love for Him will deepen so profoundly that surrendering to His will becomes your heart’s desire and greatest joy!

Beyond Your Abilities: Finding Strength in God’s Spirit

Date: February 4, 2024 | Speaker:

Have you ever been prompted by God to do something so daunting or beyond your abilities that it left you paralyzed in fear? Maybe it was an invitation to teach your first Sunday School class, share your faith with an unfriendly neighbor, or go on a mission trip to a dangerous land. Even though you may feel incapable, don’t spend one more day hesitating! God has promised to empower you for whatever He calls you to do, regardless of the challenges you may face. God gave Ezekiel a task that terrified him, but his response challenges us to find strength in God’s Spirit and trust in His ultimate plan, no matter how overwhelming it may seem. Remember, the same God who empowered Ezekiel will empower you!

Does the Most High God Rule Over You?

Date: October 22, 2023 | Speaker:

Deep within our human nature lurks a sinister force so powerful that, if left unchecked, will eventually take control of our life. It is deceptively easy to become entangled in the web of worldly attachments, be it possessions, relationships, ambitions, or social standing. We cling to these earthly treasures with such devotion that they can eventually occupy the throne of our heart. If this happens, God will have to strip away everything that is keeping us from Him; not to destroy us, but to humble and redeem us. By releasing our pride and yielding to God, we can find genuine fulfillment in His boundless love and goodness. Is there anything you are holding onto that is preventing God from being the only true King of your life?
