Sermons about Knowing God

Remember Those Who Haven’t Heard

Date: May 29, 2016 | Speaker:

An estimated 97% of the world’s population has heard of Coca-Cola, yet more than 25% have never heard of Jesus. As we celebrate the fact that we have been privileged to hear the good news of the Gospel, may we remember all those outside our walls who have never heard, and may we long to share the good news with them so that they too may know.

Can I Know For Sure That I’m Saved?

Date: May 1, 2016 | Speaker:

We live in a world that is increasingly opposed to any notion of absolute truth, to the point where anyone who claims to be absolutely certain about truth is considered by many to be arrogant. So can we really know anything for sure? John closes his letter by reminding us that we can indeed know with total certainty that we are saved. Do you have this assurance of salvation?

Are You Undergoing the Change?

Date: February 14, 2016 | Speaker:

There are certain chemicals which, when combined, produce tremendous change. Once they come in contact with each other, they cannot stay the same. In a similar way, a genuine encounter with God always produces change. John says if we claim to have had an encounter with God, but our lives have not been radically changed as a result, then we do not really know Him. Does your life show proof of this change?

The Cure for Our Greatest Problem

Date: January 31, 2016 | Speaker:

The world has tried every imaginable way to end war and crime and hatred and violence, yet despite all their best efforts to bring lasting peace to mankind through education, politics and money, nothing has changed. And nothing ever will change until we recognize and admit that our greatest problem is sin, and our greatest need is a Savior.

Practical Steps to Spiritual Growth

Date: January 10, 2016 | Speaker:

Have you ever admired a professional athlete at the top of their game and thought, “I wish that could be me. They’re so lucky!” But luck has nothing to do with it. What we fail to realize is that anyone who achieves great things in life has invested years in training, hard work and sacrifice. The Bible says if we want to grow in godliness, we will have to discipline ourselves to get there. Are you willing to pay the price?

Our Highest Goal for the New Year

Date: January 3, 2016 | Speaker:

What would you do differently if you knew you only had one year to live? This is not a hypothetical question. What if you really knew your life would end one year from today? What plans would you change, what relationships would you mend, what values would you embrace? Now, imagine the kind of difference your life could make if you started living that way today!

What If We Understood the Privilege of Prayer?

Date: September 20, 2015 | Speaker:

For many Christians, prayer is something they only think about in a crisis. Churches have also filled their calendars with so many activities that prayer meetings have become a thing of the past. But what they fail to realize is, there is no effective substitute for prayer. None! When we neglect prayer, we are missing out on one of the greatest privileges in life. What might happen if we really understood the privilege of prayer?

Obedience: Evidence of Love

Date: May 24, 2015 | Speaker:

Obedience to God is evidence of our Love for Him. If we do not spend much time with Jesus, our relationship with him will be weak; our trust will be shallow; our love will not be easy; and our obedience will be limited. We will not entrust ourselves to a stranger, and the same is true in our relationship with Christ.

An Unexpected Surprise

Date: December 21, 2014 | Speaker:

For generations the people of Israel waited for their Savior to come, but when He did come, He was not the Savior they wanted. Instead of being born to royalty, He was born to a poor couple from the middle of nowhere. Instead of being a powerful king, He was a humble servant. Instead of being a mighty military leader, He taught everyone to love their enemies. Jesus truly was an unexpected surprise. And even after they put Him to death on a cross, He still had one more unexpected surprise that no one could have believed until they saw it for themselves!

Identity

Identity Theft (The Ultimate Deception)

Date: November 2, 2014 | Speaker:

People have many false views of who God is. It seems that everyone has created their own version of God; a “god” they are comfortable with. They choose the parts about God they like and ignore the parts they don’t. But God’s true identity cannot be changed to suit us. He alone is God, and we cannot fashion Him into our own image. Until we have a right understanding of who God really is, everything in life will be off course, and we will never know how to really live. Do you truly know who God is?

What is True Worship?

Date: February 2, 2014 | Speaker:

Idolatry is essentially falling down before someone or something other than God. Pride is knowing God, and refusing to fall down before Him. True Worship begins with both knowing God, and falling down before him. In knowing Him, we begin to understand how valuable He is. It must be significant to true worship then, how valuable God is to us.
