It’s funny to watch two children staring at the last slice of pizza or the last piece of birthday cake, trying to decide who will get it. Even as adults, we find ourselves racing other people to the closest parking space, or arranging the details of a business deal to make sure we get better returns than anyone else. When we let our desires lead us instead of asking God for direction, we will never end up where He wants us to be. So, what is driving your choices in life right now?

No One Is Beyond His Reach

During the most stressful week of His life, just days before the cross, Jesus stopped to spend time with the most hated man in town and brought him to salvation. He wasn’t focused on Himself; He was committed to seeking and saving the lost right to the very end. And Jesus is still seeking people today—the lost, the broken, the hurting, and the overlooked. The Tragedy of Willful Blindness

Most of us walk through life convinced we can see things clearly, but everyone has blind spots—places where pride, traditions, or assumptions keep us in the dark. Mercy for the Accused

If we measure our goodness against the sins of others, it’s easy to pass judgment. But if we measure ourselves against the holiness of God, we’re not the judges we imagined ourselves to be. We’re the accused! When a sinful woman was brought to Jesus, He refused to condemn her, because her sentence would be paid in full on the cross. Since we’ve all been shown that same mercy, shouldn’t we be just as quick to extend it to others? Only the one without sin has the right to throw stones, and none of us qualify.

But when we’re spiritually dry, we often look in all the wrong places, trying one thing after another to quiet the longing inside us. Faith Beyond the Mountaintop

Who Do You Say That I Am?
